Six Best Places to Elope in Utah [Utah Elopement Photography]

Utah has so many diverse landscapes and there are so many places to explore! From green tree-filled mountains to tall red rock cliffs, from natural arches in the desert to hoodoos, from rolling hills to lakes. There are so many amazing places to elope, but here are my top 6 favorites.

MOAB

Moab has so many places that are perfect for eloping. Arches National Park of course has tons of spots. The Windows section is beautiful. Outside of the park there are so many options! Castle Valley has amazing views surrounded by buttes. Corona Arch is a short 2.5 mile hike (easy to moderate) and at the top you’ll find a huge arch, next to it is Bowtie Arch which makes for another cool background. Dead Horse Point State Park overlooks the windy Colorado River and has massive desert cliffs. Moab gets super hot in the summer, so spring and fall would be a perfect time to elope there. There will also be less crowds in the off season.

ZION NATIONAL PARK

Zion features massive red rock cliffs that are truly incredible. Their website shows you all the elopement locations but after the ceremony, there are tons of places you can go to get amazing pictures of you and your new spouse in your wedding clothes! Summer gets really hot and busy, so fall and spring would be ideal for an elopement.

PARK CITY

Up in the mountains near Park City there are some absolutely beautiful views. Mountains surround you, covered in pines and Aspens. Summertime is perfect because it’s about 10 degrees cooler than the valley and a little windy, making the temperature pretty perfect. There is a tiny little venue called the Church of Dirt where couples reserve their wedding date by writing down their names and wedding date on a piece of wood and putting it in a pile. There is a woodsy wedding arbor and a few benches to have a small, intimate elopement ceremony. Bring your dog and soak in the amazing views!

BRYCE CANYON NATIONAL PARK

Bryce Canyon is full of hoodoos. It’s one of the Mighty Five National Parks in Utah that are more overlooked by Zion and Moab. But MAN is it stunning. There are two spots you can have your elopement ceremony, both at Sunset Point with different amazing overlooks.. As with all national parks, you have to obtain a permit from the park which is $100-200. It’s fairly easy to get and the park website will tell you all you need to know to get it!

BONNEVILLE SALT FLATS

The Salt Flats are such a unique and pretty incredible place to elope. The Salt goes on for miles and miles and it’s just flat with the mountains far in the background. It’s such a cool view and something about it being totally flat for miles makes it so interesting. It kind of looks like another planet. Depending on the season, there are cracks of salt all around, in the winter it gets more flooded and creates a reflective look, and other times it’s just white and flat! Also, who says you have to wear a white dress when you elope?! Go for a black dress, a shorter dress, a gray dress, WHATEVER kind of dress you want and feels like you.

SNOW CANYON STATE PARK in ST. GEORGE (SOUTHERN UTAH)

Snow Canyon is a different kind of red rock. It’s a state park in St. George, Utah and has a section of red rock and a section of white rock. There are multiple spots that overlook the cliffs of the canyon and others in the canyon. There are even sand dunes! It’s so quiet at sunrise and the perfect time to elope.
