Why Park City is a Great Place for Your Engagement or Couples Session

Park City is one of those places where everywhere you look, there’s something beautiful. The Wasatch Mountains, the quaint downtown area, the peaceful forests—it’s a photographer’s dream, and it’s perfect for a couples session. The cool thing about Park City is that no matter what season it is, there’s always something magical happening with the landscape. Snow-covered mountains in the winter, golden autumn leaves, lush greenery in the spring and summer—there’s always a new vibe, and each season gives you its own set of gorgeous backdrops.

If you're into nature and adventure, you’ll love the outdoor spots Park City offers. Whether we’re hiking up to a mountain overlook, chilling by a peaceful lake, or wandering through sunlit meadows, this place has a little bit of everything for the perfect photo session

The Beauty of Park City’s Mountains

Let’s talk about the mountains. There’s just something about the mountains that makes everything feel bigger and more special. The Wasatch Mountains give you epic views and that dramatic yet peaceful vibe that makes your photos stand out. You get the sense of adventure and freedom, but still feel close and intimate with each other.

The great thing is, you don’t need to be a mountain expert to get these amazing shots. We can find spots that are easy to reach, and still get those jaw-dropping views. From forested trails to high vantage points, Park City has it all. Whether you’re more into a quiet, intimate vibe or want something a little more adventurous, we’ve got options to make sure your session fits exactly what you’re looking for.

What to Wear for Your Park City Engagement Session

Now, let’s talk outfits. Don’t stress about this part—your session is about you two and your connection, not about how fancy you look. The great thing about Park City is that the natural landscape works so well with simple, relaxed outfits. I always recommend wearing outfits that feel comfortable and true to your style. You don’t need to wear anything too dressy or “done up.” Trust me, the less you overthink it, the more relaxed and natural your photos will feel.

1. Stick to Neutral, Earthy Colors

You can’t go wrong with neutral tones like whites, creams, light grays, tans, black, and soft greens. These colors will go perfectly with the beauty of Park City without taking attention away from you two. If you want a bit of contrast, a pop of mustard, rust, or light pastel can still be subtle but add a little extra flair to your look.

2. Keep It Casual

Think of your favorite outfits for a day out. Comfortable jeans, a cozy sweater, or a cute jacket. If dresses are your thing, go for something flowy and easy-going, nothing too tight or stiff. The goal is for you both to feel comfortable, relaxed, and like yourselves.

3. Layers Are Great

Since Park City’s weather can change quickly, layering is always a good idea. A simple jacket, cardigan, or scarf can add some texture to your photos and keep you warm if the temperature drops.

4. Add Some Fun Accessories

Adding some fun jewelry like earrings, necklaces, rings, or bracelets can really elevate and complete your outfit. In the winter, adding a scarf or beanie can add to the cozy feel and create some fun texture. Even cute hair accessories like clips, cute bows, or headbands can be really cute.

How I Work: Relaxed, Natural, and Movement-Based Photos

One of the things I love most about my photography style is capturing couples in a way that feels real and authentic. I want to get those genuine moments that tell the story of your relationship. I’m all about movement-based shots that show you interacting with each other naturally, whether it’s walking hand in hand, sharing a quiet moment, or laughing together.

Instead of stiff, posed photos, I guide you through gentle prompts to get you moving and enjoying each other’s company. You won’t feel awkward or like you’re standing there in a weird pose for 10 minutes. My goal is to make sure you feel at ease and have fun throughout the session.

I want your photos to capture your true connection—those little moments that make your relationship unique. A twirl, a cuddle, a laugh, or even a little playful moment—it’s these moments that make your photos truly yours.
